The thing is, disabling the ignition is sufficient to keep it from getting stolen, and not having to switch that heavy current gives you lots more choices of switches and easier wiring. I took out the key switches on my sno-cats because I think the risk of losing the keys in the snow when I'm out in the boonies is worse than the risk of someone stealing it, but I put in master kill switches that consist of a small hidden toggle switch that activates a 30 amp relay that switches the main power to the everything except the starter. This is also a good way to ensure that there is absolutely NO battery drain due to possibly leaving some small thing turned on by accident.
