While some OEM suspension brackets are held in place with grade 5 bolts, the off-road suspension kits I know about come with grade 8 bolts.

It seems to me that the much greater clamping force of the grade 8 bolts is what will keep the bracket from moving around.

Since you will probably have to drill the bracket oversize to match the larger holes in the frame, either grade 5 or grade eight bolts should be fine. I can't see the grade eight bolts "snapping" when the smaller mild steel rivets did the job.

I used grade 8 bolts when I repaired my FFPW brachets. I will let you know if they snap off.
