The other Day a Customer had her 73 Ply Duster [ slant 6 O Yah] Towed in for a No start. Been servicing this car for about 25 years. First time it was ever towed. She called and told me that she smelled gas and turned over but no start. The weather was gettin better and she wanted to take it out for a spin. 70,000 original miles. When it got to the shop her husband said it looked like the fuel pump was dripping gas. Fuel Pump leaking GAS O NOOOO. CANT BE. It was a busy day at the shop but when OLD school comes in Im all over like BEES on Honey. That new computer controled Cars can wait. Ok she turned over and the pump leaked gas. SO found a spot for her and called for a NEW fuel pump. Can you guys beleve they didnt stock it. I was shocked. Overnight. Next day put the pump in set the choke and hit the Key NO START what cant be, got fuel. Forgot about that Spark thing. Grabed my test light and found that ignition control module was dead. Its only 38 years old. I was going to call to get one and POP said Hay we might have one. Sure enough we did, alittle dusty, but new. 2 screws one connector and she fired up like a treid an true mighty Mopar should. O what a feeling. My son said hay I thought you told me to check this Car. He said My face had a big smile the hole time I was working on her. He enjoyed the show. It was a good day at the shop. I enjoyed the test drive. Just a good old piece of American Iron. Take Care. The Dodge Boys.
