This is similar to the feed back I get every time I mention the bad gas issues. Based on that; I can only assume gas is different in different parts of the country. I've heard horror stories with worse results than what we dealt with; while others say I'm crazy. In a couple of the worst cases, my opinion is the fuel was older than a couple of months; I really don't know how long it had been in the tank in those cases. After all this got me to asking around among petroleum experts is when I got the info about the breakdown starting to take place in as little as 2 weeks. My next question was "how do we know that?" Their answer; we simply do not know how long it has been in distributors tanks or the tanks at the local station. Bottom line, we have no idea how old the product really is when we pump it at the station. Experts did say though that isn't the bigger question; because fuel doesn't deteriorate as quickly in bulk storage. Their words were the process of deterioration takes place much quicker in small quantities. It is said that the first experiences will likely be noticed in the fuel in small areas like the fuel pump body and the carb bowl. If there is say 20 gallons in the tank, the process in the tank will be slower than the process in the half pint that's in the carb. It's when it all reaches maturity and you try to run it that you start to see the real big issues.

You can certainly make your own call. I wouldn't wish what I've seen and know beyond a shadow of a doubt was the result of stale gas on a worst enemy. What you choose to top off your tank with is your business.

I've always been one to try and help a friend, neighbor, or you guys steer clear of problem issues, that was my only intent in taking part in this discussion here. I don't understand why anyone would take offense to that, but sounds like some do. We are each our own person, we all have a free will to do whatever we desire, nobody, even God almighty will stop you from doing your free will.

My Dad used to tell me back when I was a hard headed teenager; "go ahead and do what you want, but son you will have to pay for your education." He was right.
