To give accurate, quotable examples direct from PPG, I went to the shop and got my paint folder. May I suggest, never open a can of paint, reducer, hardener or other paint chemistry without a manufactures P Sheet (Product Information Sheet). The P Sheet tells you everything you need to know in using that product. If your dealer says he does not have any, look him in the eyes and tell him to print one off his PPG Computer......With that said;

P Sheet

Cleaned and sanded steel, galvanized, aluminum, fiberglass, old finishes and body filler
Also,

MP178 Plastic Primer
MP181 1K Primer
MP182 2K Primer High Build
MP184 Compliant Surfacer
MP198 Polyester Primer
MP210 1K High Solids Primer
MP211 2K High Solids Primer

Sanding;
120-180 grit on bare metal
220-320 grit on old finishes and body filler

Next you have to reference your top coat P Sheet and then Clear Coat P Sheet if using Base/Clear.

The above is not meant to be all inclusive. The P Sheets contain much more information on
application, mix ratios etc. You need P Sheets.
