Seat base ?

On my '68 wm300 there are pieces of U channel 1x1x1 4" tall just off the front corners of the seat base from the floor to the top of the base, with 2 bolts to fasten them to the base.Sorry I don't have a picture. Anybody know what they are for? Anybody have an extra?
