I have a couple of Atlas Copco Super Cobra rock drills and have used the newer Pionjar drill. Both are quite capable and the Cobra is a good tool if you can get it to run right. Most used ones around here go for $400 to $700. All will drive regular drill steel up to about 10 ft but you will need a selection of lengths. The Pionjar is a bit better to run and as capable. If you are blasting you will need to drill at least 3ft to get good break and not so much flyrock. I generally use a big compressor and Gardner Denver rock drill for any amount of drilling as it goes much faster. The Cobra is used where we can't get the compressor close enough or where a single hole is required for anchors and such.

Have fun and be safe, Jess
