I connected mine to a timer. Normally I'm not running it enough to justify venting it every xx minutes. So I have the timer and the valve set so that it vents once a day every day.
If I'm blasting or using a lot of air then I flip the timer to on and let the valve cycle more frequently. But for normal air tool use the timer is enough.
