Irrigation PVC gave it a bad name.

That paper thin stuff is the bad. One shop I worked at had been plumbed with it, about five years past, and it would blow out in the mornings when the comp pumped up. Of course it was complicated by the idiot boss who insisted that the whole system be discharged every evening. Just letting out the water would have sufficed, and turning off the electricity. But the idiot insisted on fully cycling the pressure every day.

The old pipe would blow up sending shards everywhere. So we'd have to start the day on the ladders, with the glue. He finally replumbed with the heavy walled stuff.

Later, at another shop in a brand new building, we plumbed it all with gray electrical PVC. You could tell by the color that it was not the thin walled. The bodd had us hook up a huge aluminum radiator at the tank, then all lines were run at slopes, to drain back to that radiator. And each drop was taken of upwards, with two ells to get back to downwards. Never a drop of water out of that system.
