The only thing I have heard bad about PVC is that you need to make sure it is fastened securely. If it has the chance to vibrate or sag, you will have ruptures.

I've never tried it, but when I run the airlines in my garage I was going to investigate this idea that was given to me a year or two ago. One Semi trailer's there is a flexible air line that is used for the air brakes. Someone said they have used the same type of line in their shop and actually run it in a loop so that there is no end. They also said if in the future you want to add a drop someplace, you just cut the line and put in a "tee". Because of the "loop", the line can be smaller as it's actually fed from both directions... FWIW
