I have a 1979 Ford E350 with this "vee drive".I have always loved vans over pickups for work, but hated getting stuck on job sites. This was the answer. With a posi rear, it is very formidable. The state of Michigan used the system in some of their trooper units. I doubt you'd want to tackle extreme off-roads with one, as suspension travel is limited, but it drives just like a 2wd van with the same stock height. I drove mine through two feet of snow, uphill, with no problem.
