Rick my M37's rear gearset had the same thing happen. Two of the three pins were found out of the case and because of that the ring gear bolts sheared off. The ring gear would just spin on the carrier and all the shrapnel was throughout the inerds. I changed to grade 8 ring gear bolts and loctited and staked the pin holes as well. New bearings also made there way in their as well. I guess maybe the truck has a way of saying now is the time to rebuild me !!!.
