for sheetmetal, you need something finer than the 00 black beauty used for frames and iron. dennis sherman used sand on my sheetmetal and bob stahl used black beauty. the best way to go is to steam clean / degrease everything as stated above. i had my boat hull done with plastic media. it was great for that application. i only assisted bob with the sandblasting and it got everywhere.

i have a tip blast cabinet. i used the glass beads for most things.....

going with a pressure system in a cabinet should be interesting. you will need a big exhaust vacuum to keep it clear enough to see. gets dusty quick.
