With the radiator upright, block the lower hose with you hand. Fill it up. Shut off hose, so no noise. Remove hand. Water should gush out in one big bah-whoosh, then stop. Sucking/whistling noises from top tank means tubes are plugged, as well as a slow flow.

I'm thrilled that the radiator from the "What is it" stretched carryall looks good, considering how bad it looked. Several stab wounds, but none into the tubes, so no leaks. It took me a couple hours to straighten out all the bent fins with a sharp Kabar. Fins were pretty mashed together, with some tubes squished a bit. I don't know what he hit, the whole area between grill and winch was smooshed slick. No hairs, so not a road kill scenario?
