The SawStop saw is a hot topic over at FineHomebuilding.com. The full story is that an attorney owns the patent and is encouraging people who have suffered finger injuries to sue Saw manufacturers to force them to adopt his invention. He is lobbying the Consumer Product Safety Commision to force manufacturers to adopt his technology.
Think about it when you $99 tablesaw goes to about $3K due to the new technology.
