Tim, I think he means zddp content. ZDDP is the additive in oil that prevents premature cam lobe wear in older engines. From what I have read, evidently, the metalurgy in newer cams does not require as much ppm on ZDDP to prevent premature wear. I have read a lot about this and it was also posted about at legnth a couple years back on the WWII dodge forum, and I think I added all of that info to this forum. Do a search on both sites for ZDDP or cam wear, etc. Some oils stil have ZDDP content of 1200 ppm or greater. Shell Rotella T for heavy duty use, like in diesels, is one. I run it in my WC's because of the ZDDP concern. The other additives in the Rotella T were ok for older engines also. There are about 5 oils that have ZDDP above 1200 ppm. The Rotella T is available in Walmarts around here in 1 gallon jugs.
