That's the only good thing about facebook as far as I can tell. I had 2 real friends who talked me into signing up, but it hasn't done me any good for anything except that I could post a lot of pictures easily for free and everyone can look at them. I just made up my "personal" information and put a picture of my dog on for my photo. Once you send anything to facebook, even if you specify that it's private (which isn't easy to do), it's in their system and their people and who knows who all else can look at it.

I read that when facebook was invented, they thought it would be real popular with college kids. Turns out they completely missed the mark. The biggest users of facebook are middle-aged women. That's what I see, the few times I've looked at it -- amongst my "friend" group there's a bunch of middle-aged women posting pictures of their grand-kids and new pets and talking about what they're going to make for supper.

And yeah, I'm noticing all those facebook links popping up on websites everywhere. When I look at CNN news, it shows me what my "friends" have to say about the news stories and leaves me a place to add my own comments. I have no idea how they even figure out who I am. And then everything has this little thumb's-up logo next to it these days that you're supposed to click if you "like" whatever it is. Sorry but it's none of their damn business what I like or not or what I or my friends have to say about some news story. Twitter's even more pointless as far as I'm concerned.
