Chris, I hope you get your project going. I got some hate mail when I commented on the 89000.00 truck in Jackson. My brother and I craweled under it and gave it a close look. He is a restorer too and we both came to the same concusion. It is precious metal that rare gem called leaverite. So we did.
I think it comes down to snake oil salesmanship. Most of us have a problem looking at our rig without seeing every minute flaw like it is the fammily sin. But a slick salesman can tell when the potential victim has been smitten and will take the money.
My good friend keeps telling me to sell my truck in Az. at Barrets and it will bring 65K, and that would be cool but I hesitate because they might discover the family sin.
