I make my own diaphragms from 1/16" Nygen gasket mat'l, good for gas and ethanol, so gasahol too. One square foot piece is about $10. Or I'll sell you a diaphragm for $5.

One thing I do is punch the screw holes as slots to allow the diaphragm to get pulled in. Then, assemble it loosely with the arm clamped in the middle, but allow the arm to move, let the spring push the diaphragm to one end, then tighten the screws. See, diaphragms never spend any time in the mid point. Usually under pressure, diaphragm at the bottom. Left parked, fuel evaporates, spring pushes diaphragm to top. So allow it to got to the end of stroke before tightening, it will like it there. That per my 1942 Motors Manual.]

Factories and rebuilders us a sealer, but I don't know what it is. Maybe next time I'll use some of Bill Hirsch's gas tank sealer?
