i think we should take glen out back and beat the crap out of him. capitalist! while we are at it, we should tax him at a higher rate than everyone else without fenders, raid his 401k, seize his homestead and make him contribute toward everyone's welfare and health insurance.
after we leave glen's house we should get right over to vintage power wagons. they've been at it for years. finding parts, marking them up, making money. we should load up on parts and pay what we want for those items we need. distribute the wealth.
i agree that sammy's parts will drive down the prices on fenders and beds, but they will still likely be higher than what a driver or user will want to pay. what is a fair price for repro fenders or bed to you? I applaud his efforts. if i were building a pw from the ground up, it would be sammy's fenders, bed, repro tailgate, new bed wood, stainless strips, midwest military bumpers, floorboards, repro wiring, etc. as im not a purist, but rather a user who has no problem using repro if it is as good as or better than orig reworked sheetmetal. i did a full sheetmetal resurrection on my command car and wouldn't do it again given the choice. my repro tailgate and runningboard are likely better than the origs.
someone will buy glen's fenders at a price that works for the buyer and seller. think its too much, don't buy them. please consider the guy paid joe for the advert. those funds keep the page going.
