I've never seen a core drill anywhere near 30" long. The ones I've seen are all for going through floor slabs and the like. In any case, I'm going to try just chipping out around the rocks with the bull point, not cutting through them, after drilling holes every 2" or so around the perimeter. I picked up a cheap bull point today and have a better one on order, so I'll let you know how it goes. Sometimes there's the ideal way and then there's the good enough way.
