Kohler used to be a major supplier of high grade engines, along with Wisconsin. It would be nice to think they still hold that stance. I wonder if they, like many other tool manufacturers (Milwaukee, DeWalt, Skil, Porter Cable, Rockwell, etc.) have gone over the ocean to seek better pricing on their products or at least the components. It has become very hard to find anything that is not made in China. If you could find a good used one that was 10 or so years old, you would probably have what you want.
