wiring harness

I am trying to decide between buying a harness or making my own. The problem is, the existing wire harness in my truck has been butchered, and new wires have been spliced in to the original ones or in place of original ones.
I remember someone offering to loan a harness to another who wanted to make his own. Is that offer still open from anyone? I would be happy to put up a deposit. Thanks. JH
