Jerry, The coil in your regulator with the real small wire is the voltage regulator. It is usually in the center. When you get your rig running put a volt meter on the battery, rev the truck up to 1500 rpm and check the voltage at the battery with the lights off. If it needs adjusted increase the spring tension by bending the tab on the spring holder on the frame. That will increase the voltage, or lower it by decreasing spring tension. You can also tell if you are getting a charge by looking at the reverse current cut out relay points, they should close and stay closed. It is the coil with the larges wire wraps. on it.
