cause i did it in my command car. totaly dead battery, hook charger up backwards. Hooking up cables when I put battery back in made GIANT spark - alernator diodes acted as dead short,couldn't have charged backwards if I'd left it in car. Tried to leave lights on all day to kill batt, neighbors kept honking,knocking on door, even turning lights off for me. WHere were they the day before?Oh well,no harm done, battery lasted O.K. after that.
