same exact thing happened to me.
i was at a garage trying to get a sticker shut it off and went to go restart it and nothing. no headlights,no interior lights, no idiot lights and no start. checked all obvious grounds with key on and light switch on found nothing, checked fuses, fine
mechanic thought it must be a short in the steering colume because every thing checked out up to it. as i was thinking what the @#$%
lights came back on. i went home took the dash apart. on mine there was a switch of some sort that had been removed on the left side of the dash. only a hole remains. i found 2 hot wires that must go directly to the battery because there hot nomader what. they were not covered just cut and one had melted plastic and was very close the metal in the dash? i covered both and have not had a prob since. approx.2weeks i dont no if that was it or not, that black out kit scares me though and everybody else that looks at that mess of wires.
good luck
