350 vs 351 vs 360 :Yep and the 360 smoked the 350 & 351 at the strip. The 350 went into a 68' camero w/4spd, the 351 in a 78' mustang, and the 360 in a early 70s Duster which was the heaviest and the mustang got to add ballist to its rear. All vehicles were setup with the same size tires and gear ratio rearends.Three teams of well known mechanics, each specializing on each brand was allowed to setup and tweek the factory crate engines before each run.All engines were running close on compression ,cam, and carberation.Of course they were only running ETs but hey,the 360 in the heaviest car still smoked the chevy350 and ford351.HOTROD mag.(usually favors chevy)admitted it was the stroke of the 360 that gave it the edge.
So I guess that means MOstroke= MOtorque= MObedda MOpar. As far as the 318 goes, just punch it out,add a set of 360 heads and intake(which will need to be decked or you'll lose some compression w/the bigger chambers)add a 340 crank and purple cam from high performance mopar, some hotter spark, headers and a good carb and you'll have a mean little "chevy stomp'n Dodge".
MOpar is MObedda.
