I guess the first question would be if the NV4500HD tranny shares the later WM300 NP420 and NP435 boltpattern. If so that would help matters as the LA318 will bolt to the older poly318 bellhousing except a older style starter must be used due to a later change in starter bolt pattern.
If they don't share tranny bolt pattern, have the centerhole machined to match the NV4500,then have new bolt holes drilled and tapped. I believe the WM transfercase could be moved towards the rear of the cab by re-enforcing the rear cab floor w/plate and mounting tabs for the T-case allowing the use of the longer NV4500,the org. shortshaft.Of course the front and rear dr.shafts would need to be shortened or lenghtened unless you could locate the t-case so as to allow both front and rear shafts to be the same lenght which would be good.If they can cut the repro. ring and pinion gears in 4:89,why couldn't they make a pilot shaft to allow the use of the WM or 318 bellhouse.Wouldn't it be easier to make than a ring and pinion gears?Surely we have interprising machinist PW owners out there.Anyway that was my 2cents.
