nearly froze to death

I recently rode in a friends 75/84 Dodge 4x4 ,an 74 frame and a 85 cab .No heat, the hoses are hot , engine seams hot ,he says it has a 192 thermostat in it. It barely blows lukewarm air. I looked and all the under dash stuff seems in good shape.The cables work. Is there a valve in there some where . The heater core is not hot at all!He says he has flushed the system. Any thoughts. Thanks
