First I throw a solid pallet in front of the truck. The extra few inches help get it over the winch.
I've been leaving the fenders and brackets on the truck, just having to to clean-and-jerk the grill, radiator, nose, and support.
It's not any harder than pulling a tranny by sitting on the seat, grabbing the shift lever, pull it back and set it on the deck. Long studs temporarily inserted in the bolt holes help slide it back on later.
But it did take many 12oz curls over the years to grow 15" forearms.
