With our Gov't pouring money into various EXPENSIVE alternatives that just SUCK in tax dollars and have no future, they (the Gov't) have got to LET GO and let the FREE MARKET / Capitalism take its place. Once oil gets too high, there will DEFINATELY have entrepreneurs working to make alternative energy that will be COMPETITIVELY cheaper. That is how our country has made it the past 230+ years. Just keep Antique vehicles (PW's) on the road!
