We used them in harvesters and the Oz 'C' line trucks on the sugar cane. One harvester engine and the one in the IH always managed to leak a bit of diesel and a bit of oil no matter how many seals or gaskets we replaced. The high mount on the side delivery harvester and the one in the Dodge were always neat and clean and apart from servicing, no engine downtime for the 4 seasons I worked the cane.
The 6-354 has been popular for many years and the later turbo version goes very well - just a bit long for a FFPW. Maybe a 6-305 or later 6-306 would fit? Guess I'll have to dig out some more info. That tractor engine was probably an old P6 - very reliable and a good size, but also very "old school" in performance.
