It would have to be Eugene, wouldn't it? I remember the mayor of Seattle blamed the WTO riots on "anarchists from Eugene". That seemed like a bit of a stretch, but if you've spent much time in Eugene, you know there's some truth in it. I appreciate that the kids are passionate about their cause, but boy are they ever misguided. Personally, I'd rather see some of those misguided young female PETA people doing one of their naked protests.
I gotta say that if your friend was the decoy to "draw out" the eco-snipers, he has balls of steel. That's not something I'd be wanting to do.
Did they ever actually charge anyone with anything? I don't think there's anything criminal in talking about going to Pakistan to learn how to shoot. They must have gotten further along with their plot than that.
