Thank you for the responses so far. The picture really looks better than the anvil does in person. The horn is in excellent condition, but the face has numerous small indents in it and there is not more than an inch of smooth edge anywhere around it. The funky thing is the sides look like someone went mad with a pick-axe as there is thousands of small round pock-marks with raised edges. Another small issue is the chisel marks around the base, but they do not seem to affect how it sits and could be cleaned up with an angle grinder and a careful hand. I do have access to a rather large surface grinder and may be able to re-grind the face for a reasonable sum. Nothing looks like it would be impossible to clean up, but it does not look quite as nice as the picture. This picture is the better side of the anvil.
