The Buick 225 V6 was an awesome motor. I had one in my stock 1966 DJ-6 postal delivery truck. I bought it in 1985 and it had 18000 original miles on it. The only weak thing with that Jeep was the stock three speed tranny. I broke the gearbox case on two separate trannies because the engine would overpower the countershaft gear teeth and break them off. This would then jam the gearbox and crack the case at the front countershaft bearing hole. Otherwise the slight lope to the engine was nice. It is also known as a ODD FIRE version as well I believe. I still remember opening the distributor cap port and adjusting the dwell angle.. right next to the fan!. All the future V6 Buicks were founded on this model. Terry
