Budd publications from the time of our trucks, as well as currect day publications that deal with "stud piloted" mountings, recommend 450 to 500 lb. ft. of DRY torque. If you've read similar discussions over on the ATHS site or others you get a lot of guys that say to oil the studs, or to use Never Seize. The manufacturers, however, specifically say to NOT use these lubricants. Dry torque only. Lubrication will cause the studs to be over torqued. Stu McMillan
