sounds like a violent failure! when re installing the cansiter I put thr ring in the blcok. then carefully get the bolt started with one hand and hold the canister with the other so it doesn't bounce around potentially causing the Oring to fall out. When you get close enough to over come the spring pressure push the canister in tight and hold it nice and steady then tighten the bolt with th other hand. If the Oring slips and leaks the mess is huge and happens very fast!
