I have had that problem on an M37, and still haven't resolved it. Coming down the hill I'll suddenly get such a severe pulsation that the pedal goes up and down maybe 2-3" and I can ride it up and down with my foot because I'm going slow. There's no unusual noise associated with this so I don't think it's a matter of something being loose in the drum and rolling around under a shoe. Then if I drive a short distance without using the brakes, there will be no pulsation at all the next time I use them. It seems to start and stop suddenly. I don't use the truck much and haven't pulled the drums off to see if there's anything obvious going on. I'll be curious to know what your problem ends up being.
