My thoughts on it are you are in an old truck and they are designed to go a certain speed and thats it. 40-45mph isnt a bad speed in these old trucks. When you climb into one of these old trucks you are getting into a time machine. A time when things were not so fast paced. Screw the the traffic. Enjoy the truck and let the rest of the world go around you.

I dont know how anyone would hook up an orange box ecu to a points system car. The Orange box is one of the parts replacement for going to electronic ignition. Going to electronic ignition is not gonna get you a 15mph gain.I'd be surprised if you would get any mph gain. What it will do is make the engine more efficent. MPG may go up some. Easier starting in the cold weather. It will provide a better and more accurate spark. Allow timing to stay on spot.

Is going electronic more reliable? I would say not. All my points ignition vehicles over the years keep running and running. I have had several ECU boxes fail after a few years of use and when that happens you are on the side of the road.
