Thanks Jerry.

Everything can be left in place without any of it interfering with normal truck operation - including operation of the winch. Sometimes I remove the lift arm and the cylinder to reduce weight and make steering a little easier on long drives and make the truck a little shorter for parking. (Modern plastic Ford grills are no match for it in tight parking lots. I found out the hard way.) It involves disconnecting one quick-connect hydraulic fitting and pulling three clevis pins held in place with linchpins.

The booster cylinders do not limit wheel travel. The upper cylinder rods pin into vertical slots and the lower cylinder mounts hinge away from the axle housing at full droop.

The weight of the plow and mounts combined is about 1100 lb. I never weighed separately the mounting parts that remain on the truck. I could really feel the extra weight on my WDX with the early 1110 lb. rated leaf springs, and the added weight could be seen in the way the truck sat lower than normal in the front. With the parts mounted on my B3PW with later 1600 lb. rated springs it is a different story. The additional weight really makes the truck ride a lot better without any noticeable difference in the way the truck sits.

Without the lift cylinder in place, the booster cylinders can still be operated if there is a need to stiffen and lock the front suspension. This would work real well if I were to mount my Batavia pole derrick on the same truck. I would not have to worry about over stressing the front springs when lifting heavy objects. The only problem is that most of the "above frame" mounting assemblies are in the way of the Batavia frame mounts.
