I just finished clearing the snow around our property with my W300. I think Dodge Power Wagon trucks are the reason snow was invented. I have,in addition to my W300, a '98 2500 CTD with a Hiniker V Plow. Although the newer truck is faster to plow with because of the auto. trans., I would rather use my 300. I have found that having between 1000 and 1500#s in the bed is a terrific help. The weight of the plow, in addition to the weight of the winch, really creates a weight distribution problem. With the extra weight, I am able to do a lot of plowing in two wheel drive.
The Meyer commercial size plow is a full 8' in width and I have added removable "scoops" on the sides of the blade, which really help to control the snow and allow me to carry more at one time. I strongly recommend anyone with a straight blade plow might consider making some of these. If you want to see the mounting system I devised for them, I'll be glad to take some pictures for you.
