I've been doing ebay for years, but have run into a weird situation that makes me nervous. I know some guys here have done a lot more ebay sales than I have, so thought I'd ask for advice. I have deck of playing cards listed on ebay now. I knew they were desirable, but I was shocked to see they're up to $255. I sold some last summer and they went in the $100-$150 range, but they weren't sealed boxes. Anyway, what makes me nervous is that the high bidder is a Russian with zero feedback. The second highest bidder was somebody with only 4 feedbacks. I neglected to put anything in my listing saying I won't sell to Russians or to people with zero feedback, but now I'm wishing I had. Right when I listed it, I immediately got an ebay message from a Russian asking me some dumb question that was already explained in my listing, but asking me to email him the answer to his personal email address rather than going through the ebay message system. I answered his message, but only through ebay. I didn't want to give him my real email address. I've had Russians try to scam me before.

So, the problem is this. I'll be delighted to sell these cards for $255, but I'm thinking there some sort of scam afoot. If he pays me with paypal, the money should be good, and if not, and if he doesn't I'll make a 2nd-chance offer to the #2 bidder. But is there some way he's going to use this to steal my ebay login info like that previous Russian tried to do? Also, I can't imagine the mail system in Russia is very reliable. What happens when I mail them to him and he claims he never got them and files a complaint with paypal? Will they immediately give him his money back, dock me for the fees, and I'll be out a $250 deck of cards?

I wish I could go back and change the listing now. Maybe I should just pull it and start over with no sales to zero-feedback people or to Russia. I've got 4 days left to go on it. What do you think? Am I just being paranoid? Anybody ever sold anything to a Russian and NOT had it go bad?
