I use marks-a-lot or sharpie , those stinky felt pens, to put a coat of dye on everything, reassemble, disassemble and look for places where the dye has rubbed off. I'm thinking the metal parts of the seal would be the biggest prob. The sheet metal on each side of the felt. If it's not rubbing there, and is only a tight seal, I'd run it.

Hmmm, there isn't a dished slinger in there that could be in backwards? Probably wreck the seal if you need to pull that slinger apart, if it even has one.
