With dinner done and the house empty of guests, I swapped into my flannels for a little game-time nap. I was soon drifting in and out between plays, commercials, and the occasional knock at the front door. Turns out the knocking was real, as a cold and somewhat dejected young couple who had run out of gas needed some help. Seems we were the only people home along the road. They had no phone, and weren't really dressed for such an occasion. I invited them in to warm up a little and I went up to change. I took them to a station to get some gas and after a few minutes (and some anxiety filling a YJ with a neck-less gas can) they were on the way to their Thanksgiving dinner.
It was nice to hear thank you.
