Caleb: when I built my 1980 CJ5 with a 350HP 350 and SM465 tranny I used the stock hydraulic chevy clutch and then used the stock hydraulic slave cylinder that would have come with the 4 cyl 151 cu inch engine. I had to upgrade to a larger dia. Tilton clutch master cylinder to get the right amount of slave cylinder stroke you are referring to. Too bad I sold it years ago so I could have got some pics for you. I tell you with the 350 V8 in her the Jeep was a wide machine. I also installed narrowed Dana 44's from full size chevies pickups and had the cross over steering. The Jeep rode on stock springs and handled great. The speedo went to 90mph but I buried that a few times. At that speed the front end tends to lift and steering becomes very light and touchy!. Four wheel dics brakes and locking hubs on all corners made for quick repairs and easy to get parts. Terry.
