Hi guys,

Haven't been on here for awhile. Well our '48 is getting a new coat of paint right now. Maroon body and Black fenders and running boards with cream pinstripes.

I just got done putting in a new clutch rebuilt transmission and transfer case. In the process I put a new high pressure oil pump and new pan gasket on. Also did a fresh valve job on it and new head gasket and rebuilt carb. Lots of past maintenance was neglected by the previous owner so I am trying to rectify it.

I've run it a bit with the new oil pump in it and my oil pressure is still really low when it is warmed up. Like less that 15 to 20 lbs going down the road at normal speed around 40 mph and 1800 rpm. I am running 30 weight Valvoline in it, but thinking about switching to some thing heavier. Could that help? I would like to be able to use it when the snow come this winter as it has been laid up for the last 2 years doing previous said work. Anything else I can do to keep my motor safe for a year or two so I can save my money up for a rebuild?

I assume the motor is getting tired and was wondering, could I do an in frame rebuild or do I have to pull the motor all the way out, basically I'll be doing new bearings and rings. I really don't want to pull the new transmission and clutch again if I don't have too.

Thanks,
Chris Becker
