I looked at this winch today, hoping it would either provide me with the shifting lever, or I would clean it up, paint it, and replace the winch on my truck with it. I wondered if any one has ever seen one like this.
It has the same angled mounting faces as the MU2 on a Power Wagon, and dimensionally it seems to match the MU2. The clutch shift fork assembly is heavier casting than the MU2. And the bracket that always gets lost because the two wimpy little 5/16" bolts sheer off is actually a part of the housing. Another difference is the position of the flat casting that usually has the winch model stamped into it is on the backside of the housing, by the shift lever.
The drum shaft passes through the end of the worm gear housing, about 2" past.
It does not have the name "Braden" in the usual places, so it must be someone's version of a copy. I remember the Chinese made Rhino winches, but don't have a picture of one to compare. It has the letters "U P" cast into the end of the drum and the shift lever. These letters are very clean and sharp, and obviously part of the casting.
