the IR rules and nothing else is even comparable. I did notice that there are some chinese copies of the IR design but never tried one. i have had the same IR 1/2 inch that I bought used in 1987 and it still works great. I used it professioally for many years as a mechanic also.
Ihave to say it. could it be the one stud is reverse thread? I have seen stranger things.
