firewall insulation panel

what have you used for the firewall insulation. i have pieces of a corrugated cardboard as well as a heavy single piece that came out of smoething dodge and the are in pretty tough condition. i have a great pattern to make a new one with all the correct holes. (a friend of mine made it for a rebuild he was doing) just not sure what material to use that will stand up. thanks, in advance.
