..as they say. No, as Clint stated the tailgates are not the same. Here is a picture to give you a visual. They look similar enough, (I can see how people would confuse the two) if you did not have them next to each other. A few months ago I sold a 1939-1947 Style tailgate on eBay, and when it was all by itself, everyone and their brother asked me if it would fit their 1946-1950 1st series Power Wagon. NO it will not.


I know the picture quality is not the best but it should give you the basic idea. The red tailgate was removed from a 1948 B-1-PW and it measures 53 1/2" wide (side to side), 20 1/2" tall (top to bottom). The black tailgate was removed from a 1945 WC 1/2-ton Dodge Pickup and it measures 47 3/4" wide (side to side) and 15 3/4" tall (top to bottom)
